Tour Details

The Ausangate Trek is one of the most incredible trekking routes in the Cusco region. Most trekking routes are focused on getting to Machu Picchu citadel, such as the Lares Trek. However, the Ausangate Trek is unique in that regard. This trek traverses some of the most famous mountain passes of Cusco, and it allows visitors to explore the beautiful 7 lagoons of Ausangate.

This trekking route is named after the Ausangate Mountain, the highest peak in the Cusco region. The Ausangate mountain has an altitude of 6,385 meters (20,948 feet) above sea level. Due to its high altitude, the Ausangate is considered an “apu”, a minor Andean deity, by the local inhabitants.
